TARABBAND – BANDET SOM ÄR SOM ETT SAMHÄLLE I MINIATYR
Just nu är albumaktuella Malmöbandet Tarabband ute på en turné som sträcker sig från Baghdad till Gislaved – en resa som också illustrerar bandets identitet, där traditionell arabisk musik möter pop och svensk folkmusik. Som ett samhälle i miniatyr, beskriver sångaren och bandledaren Nadin al Khalidi det som P1 Kultur träffade strax innan avresan.

Ejnar Nielsen (1872-1956) var en av de mest framstående målarna inom den danska symbolismen. För första gången sedan 1984 ägnas Nielsen nu en omfattande presentation av två danska konstmuseer. Kulturredaktionens kritiker drabbades av en uppenbarelse inför Nielsens måleri.

Gränsen till landets torrare väst har enligt en forskningsstudie flyttat sig omkring 16 mil österut sedan 70-talet. I delstater som Nebraska och Kansas tvingas nu alltfler jordbrukare försöka anpassa sig till hetare somrar med mindre nederbörd och generellt mer begränsade vattenresurser

Frederik Nielsen won the doubles title in Wimbledon 2012! He reached 17 in the world in doubles, 190 in singles and won a total of 14 singles titles and 63 doubles titles at the professional level - 3 of those in doubles came in ATP-tournaments. A few days ago he announced his retirement and will now work as a coach at the Danish Federation mainly with their elite players during their step from juniors to seniors. Nielsen is also Davis Cup-captain for Denmark.
In this episode I asked Nielsen:

- about he's new position as a coach for the Danish Federations elite section

Mitt i jultidens varma och fridfulla budskap kommer annandagen in med en lite annan ton. I gudstjänsten från Själevad berättas om Stefanos, den första kristna martyren. I sin predikan pratar kyrkoherde Peter Persman om förföljelse av kristna i dag, men också om elden som kan brinna i en människa och sprida ljus i omgivningen.
Julens budskap om frid och fred är inte en världsfrånvänd idyll. Det är en eld med kraft att trotsa mörkret i våra liv och i vår värld. För att skapa fred går inte utan umbäranden, det går inte utan kamp och smärta. Men ljuset lyser i mörkret och mörkret har inte fått makt därmed. Gud är med oss även i den mörkaste natt, säger Peter Persman i gudstjänsten.
