Welcome to One Guy One Roll the solo roleplaying podcast where I play roleplaying games for your listening pleasure. We are heading back into Lichdom with episode 5! This is the first episode where Vrakh really starts to make some reasonable progress in his quest to achieve immortality as a lich. As long as the cards continue to play nice, it seems possible to wrap this season up in one or two more episodes. I am unfortunately going to be gone for the last two weeks of December for work, but hopefully I will be able to publish one final episode for 2023 next week!
As always, thank you so very much for taking the time to listen to the podcast! Your continued interest keeps me motivated to continue to produce content. If you listen to One Guy One Roll and wish to help me keep the podcast ad-free, I do have a link to my Patreon below! As always, comments or suggestions are always appreciated! It’s easy to think of people in the distant past as kinda dumb for believing things like that mice could spontaneously generate from old grain. But if you look a little deeper, you’ll find there was a sensibility to the odd beliefs that came before science.

Welcome to Borderline and Back! This week's episode is a brief introduction to this podcast and its purpose. As well as a VERY high-level breakdown of what exactly Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) is.
In this episode, I briefly mentioned Dr. Daniel Fox, Ph.D. and his book The Borderline Personality Disorder Workbook: An Integrative Program to Understand and Manage Your BPD. This is a book that I refer to almost daily and it has been an invaluable resource on my path to recovery.
I am going to include links below on where you can purchase this book and find more amazing information by Dr. Daniel Fox, but I will be talking more in-depth about the resources that have helped me on my path to recovery in future episodes.

From Borderline to Beautiful Podcast tackles tough topics and provides information and insight into borderline personality disorder. My goal is to provide a show that offers hope and help to you or your loved ones with BPD and to answer big questions that others in the field are too scared to answer.
The stigma around BPD is unjustified because there is a good prognosis. Let's break the stigma and learn ways to heal together. Rose Skeeters, a licensed therapist, nutrition and mindset coach, will share her story and strategies to overcome her own battle with BPD and Bulimia.
You are not alone and there IS hope for a better life. It may not be an easy path, but it is a path out of the darkness, into a good life.

Welcome to Die Alone: a Solo RPG Podcast! Each week I’ll be playing a different solo roleplaying game and talking about my experiences the following episode. I’ll also occasionally dabble in solo tabletop games and adventure gamebooks. I’ll be looking at the games as a play experience, as a meditative and creative exercise and also looking at them from a designer and artist viewpoint. I’m excited about it.
In Episode 02 of Die Alone, I talk about playing the horror sci-fi solo RPG:
THE WRETCHED by Chris Bissette.
The Wretched is a game about human resilience in the face of overwhelming odds and almost certain death. It is a game about isolation, fear, and perseverance.
You play a lone survivor of an horrific attack. You have seen and done terrible things, you have seen your friends – your found family – brutally butchered by something you can’t even begin to comprehend, something that you were sure didn’t exist until it manifested itself aboard your ship.
You are existing on the edges of your endurance, high on adrenaline and fear and desperation. You are sure you won’t survive this, but all you know to do is to keep fighting.
You can find THE WRETCHED on Itch.io or in the Loot The Room Shop. (Listeners of Die Alone save 15% off orders in Loot The Room with the coupon code “3DIE6” too!)
Next Week: THRU-HIKER by Daniel M. Perez.
THRU-HIKER is a journaling game of telling stories of long-distance hiking. Using your writing instrument of choice, a pack of playing cards, and a series of writing prompts, you will create stories of the joys and challenges of being on the trail for days, weeks, or months at a time.
Designed for those dreaming of their own thru-hike, and writer-adventurers in search of new narrative challenges, THRU-HIKER is an easy game to learn for experienced gamers and newcomers alike, one that's sure to deliver hours of imaginative fun.Discuss this podcast, The Wretched or just solo games in general in our Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/alonepod

In Episode 02 of Die Alone, I talk about playing the first game in the series: LONG HAUL 1983 by Sean Patrick Cain (SPC).
It’s 1983, and the world feels hollowed out.
LONG HAUL 1983 tells the story of a dangerous journey through an empty world.
You play a long-haul truck driver trying to make their way home. Every day, you’ll hit the road, navigating treacherous highways, fleeing from menacing threats, and dealing with the psychological impacts of isolation.
And at the end of each day, you’ll find a payphone, make a call, and leave a message for the most important person in your life.
They never pick up. You never stop calling.
Using a deck of cards, a few dice, and a microphone, players will create an original narrative of resilience in the face of world-shifting catastrophe.
You can find Long Haul 1983 on Itch.io or DrivethruRPG.
Next Week: THE WRETCHED by Chris Bissette.
You are the last surviving crew member of the intergalactic salvage ship The Wretched. Adrift between stars after an engine failure, your ship was attacked by a hostile alien lifeform. The crew are dead.
You thought you had won. You launched the creature out of an airlock, and that should have meant safety.
It didn’t.
The Wretched is a solo journaling RPG played with a deck of cards, a tumbling block tower, and a microphone. You can fine The Wretched on the LootTheRoom Website, DrivethruRPG and Itch.io.

Learning our triggers is a huge part of the healing process, but knowing them and moving beyond them are two very different things. How do we break away from them? What do we do when we trigger someone else? How should they react? CA and Jaime take a deep-dive into these questions and more as they explore triggers, where they come from, and how to handle them.
*WARNING: The opening roleplay contains yelling, activation, and escalation. If you would like to skip it fast-forward about a minute.
Notes:
Becoming aware of your trauma and triggers
When triggers and accountability intersect
How triggers can create trauma in others
How to respond when someone else is triggered
The importance of the difference between how you act versus who you are
How to self-reflect without shaming yourself
How to get rid of your triggers
