Thankfully we salvaged the series against the Red Sox thanks to Brett Baty's clutch hitting and defense. We talk about him taking the third base job, another rough few games for the lineup, Tylor Megill's good and then weird start, and the continued national media obsession with Juan Soto and whether or not he's hustling hard enough. Also, Michael Kay responded to our last episode so we talk about that too. Lastly, we preview the upcoming Dodgers series.

It was a busy week in Queens as St. John's followed up the splash of Ian Jackson with adding Imran Suljanovic, Dillon Mitchell and Dylan Darling. Shooting, defense, and a point guard, all positions and places of need for the Red Storm - and they addressed each one. It's the #1 Portal Class in the country at the moment as Rick Pitino has built an absolute juggernaut for year 3. I'm joined by Zach Braziller of the NY Post to discuss the three new pieces, how they fit, what they bring to the table and how exciting this roster is turning out to be.

Rick Pitino is assembling one of the top transfer portal haul's in college basketball for a second straight off-season. Joined by Kevin Connelly of StormThePaint.com we discuss the major addition of Ian Jackson, what he brings to St. John's, can he play point guard and so much more. With two big time players already added, a busy 10 days in Queens saw St. John's get commitments from sharpshooter Stanford transfer Oziyah Sellers and New York native and McDonalds All-American Ian Jackson.
The emphasis on reshaping the St. John's offense is apparent as Coach Pitino and the staff have loaded up with fire power. Jackson and Sellers are both elite three point shooters who should compliment each other well on the floor. Adding them with Joson Sanon and Bryce Hopkins gives St. John's a lot to work with especially when you add in First Team All-Big East member, captain Zuby Ejiofor.
Discussing the additions, plus the departures and rumors, plus what else is on the horizon this offseason and more!

Later, Detroit Tigers President of Baseball Operations Scott Harris joins Joel & Jon to discuss how they're no longer just on a "good run," Javy Baez's bounce back and if signing an extension with ace Tarik Skubal is something they are working on and have the means to do.
Lastly, Joel & Jon discuss the two managerial firings we've already seen and a new layer to the Rafael Devers saga in Boston.

Today’s word of the day is ‘NICO’ as in Nico Harrison as in the Dallas Mavericks as in Cooper Flagg as in Luka Doncic as in the NBA Draft Lottery. What a night. Was it all rigged? Did Adam Silver do this? Fans are furious. Never moved up in the lottery before. Never won the draft lottery. 4th lowest chances ever. It’s crazy! (10:40) Is Giannis on the move? Could he be going to the Spurs? They have the pieces to do something like that. Does Giannis even want out? Can the Bucks build a team around him? (17:20) Knicks Tape took over again. Today’s word of the day is ‘deterrent’ as in Pete Rose as in Shoeless Joe Jackson as in Rob Manfred as in MLB as in Hall of Fame. That’s right, Pete Rose is banned no longer. Why was this done? What does it mean? Are all these reinstated players getting into the Baseball Hall of Fame? (16:40) Roki Sasaki is now on the IL. The Dodgers have a serious pitching problem. So many arm injuries. What happened here? (23:00) An article was released about MLB, Roku, and Apple, and if this hurt baseball. Let’s clear some things up. (33:15) Review: A Nice Indian Boy.
