Former Orthodox Jewish Woman tells Andrew Gold on episode 3 of the Andrew Gold Podcast about what it was like growing up in the Hasidic community, an extreme branch of the Jewish Orthodox group. Having broken out of the cult, she talks of the difficulties she had taking her children with her and compares it to the struggles of the protagonist in Netflix's Unorthodox, we she watched a little uncomfortably with her children.
She started Gesher EU, an organisation that, like New York's Footsteps, helps other Orthodox men and women to leave the sect and adjust to a new life in 'the real world'. If you're struggling with these issues and want to leave the community - or if you know someone you could help - contact them here: http://www.geshereu.org.uk/

The crime scene was described as looking more like the set of a horror movie, than real life. It is one of the most horrific crimes ever committed.
Not only did it shock the small town of Aberdeen in country NSW, where the crime occurred, it shocked the entire nation of Australia and parts of the world. What could possibly drive somebody to do this? A psychiatric illness? Or premeditated, pre-planned, pure evil?

On the first of December 1948, a body of a man was located along the seawall of Somerton Beach, just near Adelaide in South Australia.

I would like to announce the premier of Real Life Real Crime- a true crime podcast which will detail cases that I have personally worked. This came about because in listening to other true crime podcasts I found most of the podcast hosts are regular citizens with no law enforcement experience talking about high profile criminal cases that have been sensationalized by the media. There are almost no true crime podcasts where law enforcement professionals are telling their stories from the first person point of view of the cases they actually worked. Therefore, I created Real Life Real Crime and I believe you will find it informative and interesting. I have always said that working in law enforcement is the" greatest show on earth" because the truth is almost always stranger than fiction.
I do have to warn you that my podcast is for adults only as the content will contain true, uncensored, and graphic descriptions of criminal cases I have worked.
I hope you will listen to the podcast and please feel free to "like" and "share"!
