Det handler først om en 48-årig kvinde fra Esbjerg, som forsvandt sporløst efter en tur til Varde, hvor hun skulle låne penge af en mandlig bekendt. Hendes bil blev efterfølgende fundet parkeret og aflåst, og nogle uger senere gjorde politiet en sørgelig opdagelse i hendes hus. Bagefter taler vi om Danmarks første og eneste skoleskyderi.

En 51-årig kvinde blev sidst set i live ved 23-tiden en sommeraften i august, da hun gik alene hjem efter en tur i byen. Næste dag blev hun fundet død i sit soveværelset - kvalt af en ukendt morder. Bagefter handler det om en 11-årig piges utrolige kamp mod både en gal morder og elementernes rasen.
