Storm Proof
Pst Laju began by teaching that in marriage, storms, and trials will come and that is why it is important to prepare ahead of time. She noted that our preparation must come from a place of victory and not fear.
She emphasized the importance of choosing right because as much as marriage is meant for us, we must also be Kingdom-minded in our choosing ( Malachi 2 vs 13-15).
📝 7 ways to stormproof your marriage:
📍Foundation:
Our mindset about marriage must be based on the word of God rightly divided. It is also important to invest in knowledge and prepare adequately by reading books and listening to sound teachers (Proverbs 24:3, Mathew 7: 24-27).
📍 Discernment:
Discernment would protect you from the wrong advisors. The way to fight the enemy is to stand in peace, it is part of warfare (Mathew 5:9, 2 Corinthians 2:11).
📍Communication:
In communicating, we must ensure that we listen to understand and not to respond while also keeping in mind that the way we talk, is just as important as what we say. We must also learn to communicate by the wisdom of the spirit ( Genesis 18:6, James 1:19 ).
📍Commitment:
Love anticipates storms and looks out for ways to navigate them and not from a place of fear.
Get fear out, get knowledgeable, and learn to commit rightly (1 Corinthians 13:4).
📍Oneness: Ephesians 5 vs 29
Oneness means believing in your spouse. Some parts of oneness are instantaneous while many parts are in process (Philippians 4:8).
📍Christ:
If you go with God, you will always win. Put God at the center of your home.
Apart from the relationship with your spouse, there should be a relationship with God (Mathew 8:25-26, Ecclesiastes 4:12).
📍Purpose:
Marriage is your good and also the good of the kingdom.
The purpose of marriage is companionship and raising Godly seeds (Malachi 2:13-15, Ecclesiastes 4:9). -
In the school of the Spirit, there’s a way to respond. You can be a master in the subject of peace. You can become more fluent in the language of faith.
Colossians 3:15 tells us to let the peace of God rule in our hearts and this means two things:
1. Peace is not an event. It’s not out of your control.
2. Peace is up to you. You can give it permission. You can decide that you’re going to allow peace reign. A perfect example is Jesus Christ on the cross. Luke 23:28✨ There’s a level of training required in mastering peace. If the Bible tells you “let peace reign” (Colossians 3:15), it’s because it’s possible.
MISTAKES MANY CHURCHES MAKE IN THE NAME OF DEMONSTRATION OF FAITH
1. We deny facts in the name of faith. Be like Jesus in Matthew 26:38
2. We’re not trained to expect challengesWe do not know what tomorrow holds. Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.” (James 4:14-15)
Like Jesus, you must have the humility in prayer where you say “nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.” Matthew 26:39THREE THINGS YOU’LL PROBABLY EXPERIENCE AT SOME POINT IN YOUR LIFE:
1. Being financially broke
The revelation of the Rehoboth is not complete until you know how to move on from losses. Genesis 26:22; 1 Timothy 6:17.2. Sickness
You will need your strength to stand and fight. Philippians 2:25-28. When you hear bad news, rehearse your response.3. Heartbreak
This is beyond romantic heartbreaks. At some point in your life, people will disappoint you. Learn to handle it.
HERE’S HOW TO MASTER PEACE📍 Rehearse what you can control
God showed Joseph the years of famine that would come. Joseph didn’t “pray it away” but started planning.✨ Have a good savings culture. It is part of stewardship to the Lord not to spend it all. Budget generosity. Don’t eat your capital or give it away.
Manage what you can control and embrace what’s beyond your control. There are some things only God can intervene and that’s okay.WAYS GOD EXPECT YOU TO HANDLE TOUGH TIMES
1. Remember His faithfulness in the past
To do otherwise is to be of little faith. Matthew 16:10-11.
✨ God expects you to look into your past and find evidence of his faithfulness, wear it like an armor, and brag against Goliath.2. Worship
You worship because:
📍 You trust his providence
📍 You trust his power
✨ No matter what you’re going through, it’s a small thing for God. There’s nothing He cannot do or change. Nothing is too difficult for him. James 1:2. Habakkuk 3:173. Remember he works creative miracles
What seems insufficient can multiply.
There’s an act of Joy that’s only by faith. Job 38:7. You see God working behind the scenes, so you respond by faith.
As you continue with the rest of this week, remember that peace is not something out of your control. It can be mastered! -

Let God slow you down
Even though worship can be expressed as music, it is deeper than music. Worship is the alignment of your heart and life to God.🔥
Here are some key things to note from the sermon:
- Worship is an instrument for divine leading. Precision comes in worship.
- Worship is how God colonizes our hearts.
- We could be regular churchgoers, but we may not have given him the leading to slow it down. Proverbs 14:12
- Anything we would rather do when we ought to be searching for God is a waste of time.
- If we learn to obey God, we will save energy. Ecc 9:11
- Prayer will never be a waste of time.As believers, we must understand that worship is not just a good idea, it is a must.
The opportunity to worship never leaves us the same. Rom 1:12. ✨ -

The book of Romans highlights the Gospel message and showcases God's promises, righteousness, and heart. We learn about all of the treasures we have through living a life with Jesus and as we share in His glory, we also share in His suffering. But no amount of hardships or suffering will ever compare to the glory that He has for the end of our lives for us.
"For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children. And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering. Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later." Romans 8:16-18
