In this episode, Jessica talks with Karina about how she found Jivamukti Yoga in New York, why the practice speaks to her, and her definition of vinyasa yoga. Jessica and Karina talk about what it is really like to be a full time yoga teacher, and how to make the decision to quit your day job. Karina talks about how she chooses her themes and sequences for her classes. The women discuss the slippery slope of self-identifying too much with what style of yoga you teach, and how maintaining a beginner’s mindset is the way to combat this potential issue. The conversation leads into veganism, what that means, and why many yogis practice this lifestyle. They talk about how to set yourself up for success when making dietary changes, and the women discuss a possible Ayurvedic reason for not following a vegan diet.Show notes: https://www.jivakarinayoga.com website

Join Jessica and Krissa for the first episode of the podcast, where Krissa talks about what it is like to be a new mama for the first time, and how that impacted her yoga and pranayama practices pre/post natal. The women discuss the differences in teaching yoga in Norway versus the US or Hong Kong/Asia, and move onto the hot topic of navigating the intersection of commerce + spirituality. What role does integrity play in running a yoga business? Listen in as Krissa dishes out valuable business advice to new yoga teachers. Jessica and Krissa talk about the new yoga prop Krissa invented called the Dharma Strap, and why it is a game changer.
