Starting and ending our day like this has been a total gamechanger during this busy season with so many littles.
It's taken tweaking and refining, and we're still open to feedback on it, but it's blessed us so much that we just had to share it with you guys.
This routine gives us time to focus on what's most important, it allows us to shepherd our children in the way we desire to do so, and it keeps our home running smoothly while staying well-kept.
We'd love to hear if this inspired you to try something similar! Also let us know what your routine looks like, we're always looking for ways to improve ours in order to be closer to the Lord.

We came across a beautiful clip of Rich Mullins recently, where he tells the story about how he got saved when he was 2 or 3 years old.
It's sweet, but it brings up the question: can kids that young really be saved?
Which brings up...a lot more questions.
Join us as we dive into this question from the perspective of a mother and a father who desire their children to be saved with "boring testimonies", who are thinking a lot lately about what it really means when Jesus tells us to be like little children.

Welcome back to As For Me and My House!
We're back for another season, and while there will be more of what you know and expect, we're also pressing record at a very different stage of life than any of our previous seasons.
We've taken an intentional break over the past almost-year, we now have 5 children, and the Lord has been continuing to prune us, teach us, and lead us.
We're in such a season of grace and blessing and overflow - which seems silly since we've had 5 children in the last 6 years - but it really feels like the Lord is leading us to start recording again to share what we've been learning and discerning, and we want to share what we've been learning in our home, in case any of it's applicable to your home.
Thanks for joining us, we can't wait for you to hear what's coming up over the coming weeks and months!

Hey Friends! We are thrilled to bring this episode to you this week! One of the most requested topics we are asked about is how to navigate television and social media consumption with littles. The modern world of technology has presented unique challenges that parents are facing on top of the already demanding job of raising children in a culture that sees kids as vulnerable targets and easy to be manipulated. Media consumption can be a good thing (with the right content in the right quantity), but it can also be very toxic and destructive. Joining Jordan and Milena to share his thoughts and best practices is well-known actor, author, evangelist, and host, Kirk Cameron. With six children of his own--and now three grandchildren--tv and media impact is something near and dear to Kirk's heart. We pray this episode blesses you and your family! You can find more information on Kirk, his new Brave+ show "Iggy and Mr. Kirk" as well as many other faith-based, classical, and family friendly resources online at https://bravebooks.us

Hello friends! Thank you for joining us for another episode of As For Me and My House podcast! On this week's show, Milena and Jordan discuss a recent encounter with angels. While this may be cause for skepticism for some, we who believe the Bible and take it seriously should not be surprised to have experiences with spiritual beings from time to time. After all, Hebrews 1:14 says, that angels are "ministering spirits sent out to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation," and later on in chapter 13 verse 2, we are told to "not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares." Additionally, we are told that angels visited and ministered to Jesus after his temptation in the wilderness in Matthew 4:11. If you've ever had a similar encounter like Milena describes in this episode, be sure to leave a comment below and share your experience! We look forward to reading your testimonies! Be blessed!

As the saying goes, "life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans," and that statement couldn't be more true when your family is in the midst of major life shifts. Maybe you're moving across the country. Perhaps you just welcomed your first child into the world. Or it could be that you started a new career with entirely different rhythms that need to be quickly learned. Regardless of the shift you and your family are making, the Lord is always at work accomplishing His purposes in your life, if we would just pause long enough to take note. In this episode, we are joined once again by our sweet friends Elisha and Katie Voetberg of Now That We're A Family. We were so refreshed and encouraged to hear their wisdom on how they gracefully walked through a long season of living off grid, building a home, caring for their six children and adapting to a new chapter of life! You can learn more about the Voetbergs, their online music academy, and pick up a copy of their first ever print magazine at: https://www.nowthatwereafamily.com

Hey friends! This episode is certainly different from our traditional content, but we had an absolute blast hearing from JT and his journey in pursuing the deeper things of the Lord! There comes a point in every serious Christian's walk where they have to examine what they've been taught (at one point or another in their life) and go back into the Scriptures to see what the Bible actually says. We all come to the Bible with certain biases, traditional positions, or presuppositions. Do not shy away from the Holy Spirit's prompting when this happens! Instead, lean into the wrestling and pray for wisdom and discernment as you seek out God's Truth. Show JT some love and follow him on Instagram, subscribe to him on YouTube, and subscribe to his audio podcast wherever you listen to podcasts!

Join us as we share our experience of how the Lord brought us through the valley of miscarriage into the gift of child-bearing once again. We know so many people who have experienced multiple miscarriages in a row and feel beyond discouraged and defeated by the repetition of grief. Can we encourage you to continue in your patient long-suffering and keep your eyes fixed on Jesus. Despite the worst of circumstances, He loves you and is working all things for your good and His glory--even the anguish of miscarriage. We pray this episode blesses you to fight on and keep the faith! There may be pain in the night, but joy comes in the morning (Psalm 30:5). Hold on.

Welcome back, fam! In this week’s episode we’re switching things up a little… Join us as we sit down to share what God is currently teaching us through our personal Bible readings, group studies, and devotional time. While Jordan has been diving deep into the book of Genesis with a group of men from church, Milena has been reading both the Old and New Testaments, unpacking powerful connections between the two. We hope you enjoy this causal conversation as we discuss the beauty of God’s Word and how these personal revelations are shaping our faith for the better!

What happens when the honeymoon phase wears off? What do we do when the person we married becomes just someone we live with? In marriage, we can often find ourselves choosing convenience over covenant— meaning we get so caught up in our everyday life that we neglect the very person we vowed to give our everything. In this episode we share 7 ways to help spouses get OUT of the roommate stage ASAP! After having another baby, moving, and trying to keep up with it all, we found ourselves in the “roommate phase”. These 7 practical steps are what we implemented to help us get to a healthy, thriving, God-honoring marriage once again. We pray this episode is a blessing and encouragement to those who need it!

Is there a healthy way to "deconstruct" your faith? How can we best lead our children to follow the Lord, although it is ultimately their own decision? In this week's episode no topic is off the table as we speak with Husband, Father of 6, Pastor, and Author, Craig Groeschel. From prioritizing your marriage and raising children who follow Jesus, to wrestling with why our prayers may go unanswered, Pastor Craig has sound, biblical wisdom for it all. In his latest book, "The Benefit of Doubt", Craig Groeschel shares stories from his life and the Bible to teach us that doubts don’t have to take us away from God; instead, our doubts can actually draw us closer to God.
"The Benefit of Doubt" will be released on February 18th - learn more and pre-order a copy here: https://www.craiggroeschel.com/books/the-benefit-of-doubt

Have you been feeling a nudge towards dressing more modestly but donât know where to even start? We often overcomplicate modesty while failing to see the heart behind it. The way we dress and carry ourselves as women of God is an outward expression of inward transformation. In todayâs episode Milena sits down with Joana Sosa, a modest fashion influencer who has been instrumental in helping Milena embrace a modest wardrobe by proving that modesty can still be stylish! Joana shares her journey from intentionally showing off her body in revealing clothing, to throwing away her entire wardrobe at 17, and how she truly encountered God right in the midst of it all. We all have to start somewhere and we pray this episode is a starting point for many women to embrace the beautiful call to modesty from the inside out.

âWhat if my parents arenât deserving of honor?â âYou donât know what they did to me!â Youâre right. We donât know your exact story and weâre not claiming to. The truth is our parents will not always be deserving of honor. And yet the truth is weâre called to honor them anyway. In this episode we publicly acknowledge the mistakes that weâve made regarding honoring our own parents and what honoring them can look like practically speaking. Thereâs a promise attached to this biblical mandate and our God always keeps His promises. When the world screams âcut them off!â and ânever speak to them again!â Godâs word says âhonor themâ and âpray for themâ. We pray this episode is an encouragement and a reminder that the redeeming grace of God is truly our only hope.

Why is the word âsubmissionâ so taboo in todayâs society? What does submission *actually* look like according to Godâs word? Formerly known as Feminine Not Feminist on IG, today we hear from Anneliese as she recounts her struggles with submission early on in her marriage. From an unhealthy view of submission, to learning how to respect her husband, Anneliese shares how she relied on Godâs word to shape her understanding of this biblical mandate. Whether single, engaged, or married, we truly believe all women can benefit from this encouraging and edifying conversation. Enjoy!

Who has the most influence over your children? Whose voice does your child value the most? As parents, weâd love to think it was us, but more often than not, itâs actually other children. Peer-centered settings in school, church, sports, and extracurriculars have created an environment where our kids are solely around children their age for the vast majority of their days. Whatâs the problem with this? Kids are unable to raise kids. Duetronomy 6 and numerous scriptures demonstrate that itâs the duty of parents and elders to properly raise their childrenâ not the tv, not cellphones, and definitely not other kids. Join us as we share our strategies to combat this and what weâve implemented along the way!

Practically speaking, what does preparing for marriage look like? How can we use our singleness to set ourselves up for success in marriage? In this weekâs episode we bring back our good friend, Alia Jones, to share her journey to contentment in singleness while still contending for her future marriage. For many, our 20s can feel like an awkward space between grieving where we once were, while longing to be where we desire next. Alia shares her struggles with life-altering transitions and how she still honors God and her parents in the process.
