The European election is coming up and there are ONE HUNDRED MILLION CANDIDATES* and it can all be a little confusing so I got the brilliant Sinead O'Carroll, editor of TheJournal.ie, back to help. She explains why our vote is so important, how to get basic info about the candidates and how to use your vote most effectively. This episode isn't about telling you who to vote for, rather making sure you feel empowered to use your vote in the best way for you.
You can find The Journal's European election resource here.

This week's Catch Up is with Ali Dunworth, food writer and author of A Compendium of Irish Pints: The Culture, Customs and Craic. It feels a little weird to talk about the fluff and frippery of the world of entertainment in the context of what's happening in Rafah but this is the entertainment episode so that's what Cian Sullivan and I did. We discussed the Met Gala, the Kendrick vs. Drake hip hop beef, Jeff Goldblum's children's inheritance, and the mysterious allure of non-famous celebrity magnets like Derek Blasberg.

Many of you sent me the recent research by DCU's Anti-Bullying Centre which shone a light on the way anti-feminist, misogynistic content ends up on young men's social media fees. I really wanted to hear more about the research and to learn more about the origins of this kind of content as well as what we can do to help the boys in our life falling prey to it, so I was delighted to chat to lead researcher Dr. Catherine Baker of DCU's Anti-Bullying Centre.

In this week's entertainment episode we're joined by Cassie Delaney who brings us up to date on the week's biggest and most interesting entertainment stories. We chat about the IFTAs, Taylor Swift's Matty Healy takedown, and, unfortunately, some truly gross sexism and misogyny. Light and shade, wha?

You may have heard people talking about this week's RTE Investigates documentary on the fact that many Irish people are still being forced to travel to access abortion services. The issues raised are really troubling, and it seems that many people weren't aware of the awful circumstances in which people still find themselves in around pregnancy in this country. This week I caught up with Annie Tidbury, Service Manager of the Abortion Support Network, a volunteer-run service which assists people in accessing abortion. Sadly, Ireland is still in the top two countries they hear from. We talked about why there are still barriers and what we can do to make change.

This week Esther O'Moore Donohoe and I have much to discuss after the celebs hit the desert for another Coachella weekend. We also chat about Sharon Osbourne's frankly incredible response to comments by Amanda Holden, Ryan Gosling on SNL and why it would be better if some celebs didn't have a giant platform.

For some time now I’ve wanted to speak directly to someone impacted by what’s happened over the last six months in Gaza, and lately that desire intensified as I sensed myself and others becoming a little desensitised to the continued horror. Then, I was flicking through tiktok last week and I came across a post from today’s guest, Dr. Walaa AlAbssi, a dentist from Gaza who came to Ireland in September to complete a Masters degree and immediately felt she was the right person to speak to. I was so happy when she agreed to speak to me about her experience of being here, while her family are doing everything they can to survive in Gaza, and what we can do to help.
