  • We’re digging into why panic attacks matter when TTC.

One in ten adults have a panic attack each year, and they usually begin between 15-25.

Anyone who has experienced a panic attack may feel like they’re losing control or even dying.

So, what do panic attacks have to do with your reproductive health?

Panic attacks can be caused by nutrient deficiencies, mineral deficiencies, poor gut microbiome, hormone imbalance, caffeine intolerance and trauma.

We regularly see anxiety, depression and panic attacks lessen or even be eliminated when addressing our health in a targeted manner.

Let’s discuss some steps you can take right now to stop panic attacks so you can focus on your health and improve pregnancy success.

I’m excited to welcome Dr. Sandra Scheinbaum to the podcast. Dr. Scheinbaum is CEO of the Functional Medicine Coaching Academy, a collaboration with The Institute for Functional Medicine and a leader in the field of health coaching education.

    In this episode, you’ll learn:

    1) Mind-body techniques to cope with panic attacks

    2) How cognitive behavioural therapy can help with panic attacks

    3) Nutrition, rational thinking and body awareness to guide you on the road to recovery

  • We’re digging into how to balance blood sugar when you are TTC.

If your blood sugar is on a roller coaster every day, this can impact the menstrual cycle, disrupt ovulation, and negatively affect implantation.

I know you may have been told that your blood sugar is normal.

    But is it optimal?

Optimal biomarkers are needed for preconception health.

You may be experiencing mood swings, poor sleep, sugar cravings, or you may feel hangry.

This could be a sign that your blood sugar is imbalanced.

So, how do we balance our blood sugar and get pregnant this year?

    In this episode, you'll learn:

1)What insulin resistance is, and why it matters when we are trying to conceive

    2) How and when to test blood sugar

    3) What it means for our fertility when we experience sugar cravings, mood swings, poor sleep, and that "hangry" feeling

    4) How stress and sleep impact blood sugar

    5) What high and low blood sugar means for fertility and health

    6) How to balance blood sugar and the best diet to regulate your blood sugar

  • We're digging into how to boost estrogen levels naturally to improve pregnancy success.

Many of us are struggling with symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats, low libido, and irregular or absent periods.

Your doctor may have told you to rush to IVF or that donor eggs were your only hope.

Maybe they told you to get on hormone replacement therapy (HRT) right away to protect your heart and your bones.

But why is your estrogen low, and how do you boost it naturally?

Let’s figure out the factors that influence estrogen and the steps you can take right now to improve pregnancy success.

    In this episode, you’ll learn:

    1) The most common signs of low estrogen and why going on HRT is a band-aid approach and doesn’t uncover the reason it’s low in the first place

    2) The factors that influence estrogen (i.e. thyroid, gut microbiome, adrenals, mineral deficiencies)

    3) Specific steps to take right now to balance hormones and improve estrogen levels

  • We’re digging into lipid replacement therapy while TTC.

You may have heard of intralipid therapy. Many fertility clinics are offering this service to improve pregnancy outcomes (especially for recurrent pregnancy loss or elevated natural killer cells).

Intralipids are synthetic and made from soybean, egg yolk, glycerine and water. Possible side effects are headache, dizziness, nausea, sweating, or vomiting may occur.

Is there a better way to boost the immune system naturally and support our mitochondrial health?

Our bodies weren’t meant to handle all the high toxin exposure, and this may be impacting your ability to get pregnant and carry a baby to term.

Lipid replacement therapy may be an option to consider.

I'm excited to welcome Dr. Carolyn Messere to the podcast. Dr. Carolyn is a seasoned Functional Medicine MD with a decade of expertise dedicated to empowering individuals battling fatigue, anxiety, and hormone imbalances.

    In this episode, you'll learn:

    1) What is lipid replacement therapy, and how can it help when you are TTC

    2) The difference between synthetic intralipid therapy being offered at the fertility clinic and lipid replacement therapy

  • We’re digging into reproductive immunology and why this can help pregnancy outcomes.

Reproductive immunology is a hot topic in the fertility space.

There are some cutting-edge therapies that can help address diminished ovarian reserve, repeat miscarriage, elevated NK cells, positive antinuclear antibodies (ANA), secondary infertility and unexplained infertility.

I’ve hosted the Get Pregnant Naturally podcast for over 6.5 years, and I know that when we work on our health, we can reverse infertility.

In all those episodes, I have not interviewed anyone from the conventional fertility industry. We are not anti-IVF, but I believe strongly that the first step for anyone on the fertility journey must include a targeted assessment and action plan to improve our health. Skipping this part is what leads many to experience poor outcomes with assisted reproductive technology.

I wanted to bring this episode to you to discuss some therapies to consider after you’ve conducted functional testing, optimized your biomarkers and implemented a targeted plan to address the underlying reasons for your fertility diagnosis.

Today, I'm excited to welcome Dr. Marco Mouanness to the podcast. Dr. Marco is a published author and expert on several fertility topics, such as ovarian rejuvenation, PCOS, endometriosis, recurrent implantation failure, and the impact of COVID-19 on fertility and pregnancy.

In this episode, you'll learn about:

    1) Factors that indicate the need for immune testing (i.e. NK cells, ANA, recurrent miscarriage, low egg count and more)

    2) Cutting-edge therapies such as uterine PRP (platelet-rich plasma therapy), vaginal ozone therapy and lipid infusion

  • We’re digging into how to know if IVF is the next step if you have low AMH/high FSH.

If the majority of us can get pregnant naturally, why is there such a push to go to IVF?

First of all, most doctors get little more than one week of nutrition training in medical school.

They simply don’t know the power of personalized lifestyle changes to improve pregnancy success.

So, their go-to solution is medication.

Many medical schools are funded by big pharma. Doctors are indoctrinated into the pharmaceutical complex during their training. They are NOT trained to investigate why a bodily system is out of balance, only to identify the issue and prescribe a drug or cut it out with surgery.

Don’t get me wrong; modern medicine saves lives. If you have an acute issue, such as a broken arm, your doctor can help. But for chronic conditions such as infertility, our medical system falls short.

The number one thing we can do to get pregnant isn’t rush to IVF; it's to focus on our health.

But where do we start (how do we avoid time wasters) so we can get pregnant this year?

This episode is for you if:

    1) You’ve tried diet/lifestyle changes, and you feel like IVF is the next step

    2) You’re not sure how to optimize successful IVF

    3) You feel like something is being missed, but you're being told you’re running out of time

    4) You’ve already experienced failed IVF, and they're rushing you into another

    5) You feel hesitant to rush back in again without making targeted changes to your health

  • We're digging into how homocysteine impacts fertility.

Our goal at Fab Fertile is to reduce inflammation in your body and boost your immune system so you can prepare for pregnancy success.

But how can you tell if you have inflammation in the body?

A good marker to get tested is your homocysteine.

Optimal homocysteine levels are crucial for overall health and high levels can lead to inflammation.

Plus, healthy homocysteine levels are essential for egg and sperm health.

So, what are the exact steps to improve homocysteine levels and get pregnant this year?

    In this episode, you’ll learn:

    1) What is homocysteine, and why does it matter for fertility (i.e., ovulation, egg health, sperm health, embryo quality, implantation, and pregnancy outcomes)

    2) What are the optimal reference ranges for healthy homocysteine levels in the blood

    3) Which foods can help improve homocysteine levels

    4) Which supplements can help with homocysteine levels (i.e., MTHFR gene variant (60-80% of us have this variant) and how can this impact homocysteine)

  • When I polled our Get Pregnant Naturally with Low AMH/High FSH Facebook group, they told me that their biggest struggle right now is what to eat to improve pregnancy success.

There can be a lot of contradictory information about the right diet for fertility.

Remember, generalized dietary recommendations such as carnivore, paleo, keto or vegan only waste time.

We need a personalized approach because we’re all unique.

    So, where do you start?

I’ve got a simple 10-day plan so you can figure out how food impacts your body.

    In this episode, you'll learn:

    1) How to know if your infertility is a symptom of something else going on in your body (Hint – digestive issues, skin/mood problems, joint issues, and autoimmunity are ALL clues)

    2) What is a leaky gut, and why this matters if you are TTC

    3) Which foods to avoid during the elimination and how to reintroduce them (this part is crucial)

    4) Which foods you will eat (it is NOT about starving or drinking green juice)

    5) How to commit and actually start the elimination diet (gluten-light/dairy-light do NOT work)

    6) Supplement recommendations and lifestyle strategies to support you during an elimination diet

I just put together a new guide “Reconnecting With Your Fertility: Preparing Your Body With Diet” that I'm going to give you pro bono (aka, free 😂)

If you want it, reply here with "10 DAY".

    It includes:

✅ Step by step 10 day plan to determine if you have a food sensitivity (a theme we see with low AMH and/or High FSH is food sensitivity)

✅ The final word on caffeine, alcohol and sugar and what you need to know as you prepare for pregnancy success

✅ What to expect when you begin to reintroduce the foods back into your diet (this is the most critical step and so many people get this part wrong)

✅ Why a generalized approach to diet wastes time and how to fast track pregnancy success with this proven 10 day plan

    And a lot more.

    You will be impressed.

  • We’re digging into how functional genetics can improve pregnancy outcomes.

At Fab Fertile, we’ve been offering genetic/genomic testing as part of our method for years.

This genetic testing is very different from the testing you would receive from your doctor. When you go to a fertility clinic, they typically conduct karyotyping genetic testing to understand your ability to produce a healthy embryo.

However, approximately 10% of the population has abnormal chromosomes, so focusing solely on karyotyping misses crucial genetic information.

Our genetic testing looks at specific gene variants and makes specific diet/lifestyle recommendations and supplements that can support your genes. This genetic testing helps us personalize and fast-track your chances of pregnancy success.

So how do we use genetics testing to identify what is holding you back from conceiving and fast-tracking pregnancy success?

I’m excited to welcome Dr. Sam Shay to the podcast. Dr. Shay earned a Doctorate in Chiropractic and degrees and certifications in acupuncture, functional neurology, genetics analysis, and functional medicine.

    In this episode, you’ll learn:

    1) Why genetic testing is essential for anyone trying to conceive, and which genes are essential for conception and improving pregnancy outcomes

    2) How to boost the immune system and why this matters for reproductive health

    3) Specific genes such as MTHFR and more and how to support genetic pathways to get pregnant this year

  • We’re digging into what IBS/SIBO has to do with reproductive health.

So many of us are experiencing digestive complaints such as loose stools, constipation, bloating or gas.

And while these may be common, they are certainly not normal. When you’re trying to conceive, they are a clue to dig deeper.

This is especially true if you’ve been diagnosed with the catch-all diagnosis of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).

So, what can you do to address IBS, and why are these embarrassing symptoms linked to fertility?

I’m excited to welcome Melanie Keller to the podcast. Melanie is a leading global pioneer in the revolutionary treatment of IBS/SIBO, with an astounding success rate of 90% and permanent results in 12 weeks or less. Her innovative and successful treatment has garnered recognition in top-tier media outlets such as Forbes Health, Well+Good, and ABC's "The List TV." Her innovative way of thinking and providing clarity in application are at the forefront of her precision medicine approach to health and well-being.

    In this episode, you’ll learn:

    1) What IBS is, and what you can do to address the symptoms (plus why it matters if we’re trying to conceive)

    2) The connection between IBS and SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth)

    3) Steps to take to improve IBS symptoms plus supplements and diet/lifestyle strategies

  • We’re digging into why a continuous glucose monitor can help when TTC.

Balancing blood sugar may not be on your radar when you have low AMH and or high FSH.

At Fab Fertile HQ, it’s one of the top themes we see with couples that have diminished ovarian reserve and premature ovarian insufficiency.

You may even have signs of blood sugar imbalance, such as poor sleep, sugar cravings, feeling hangry, or mood swings.

However, because your glucose is “normal,” your doctor is not investigating further. But remember, normal does not mean optimal. Optimal glucose levels are needed to conceive and have your baby.

Blood sugar imbalance may be the reason why the embryo is not implanting.

So how can we improve our chances of getting pregnant naturally, and could a continuous glucose monitor be part of your fertility toolkit?

I'm excited to welcome Boris Berjan to the podcast. Boris is a two-time chronic illness conquerer who, at one point, had seven different doctors (from MDs to energy healers) and became extremely frustrated with the shotgun approach applied to my health without real-time objective data. He is the founder of Theia Health, a pioneer in provider-focused CGM platforms.

    In this episode, you'll learn:

    1) Why balancing blood sugar for both men and women is vital for reproductive health

    2) Signs of high/low blood sugar and the impact on fertility

    3) How a continuous glucose monitor (CGM) can help someone who is TTC to balance blood sugar and personalize diet/lifestyle

  • We’re digging into cancer prevention and having cancer while TTC.

Many of us have been touched by cancer in some way. A cancer diagnosis can be an overwhelming experience and challenges individuals in ways that can be hard to imagine.

Conventional medicine tells us that chemotherapy, radiation and surgery are the only treatment options.

While those options may be suitable for some, there are alternatives that we can consider.

It can be incredibly confusing to know where you can start to optimize pregnancy success after or during a cancer diagnosis.

Also, you may have a family history of cancer and want to optimize preconception health (is IVF right for someone who has a higher risk of cancer?). So, where do you start?

I’m excited to welcome Katrina Foe (https://www.cancerfreedom.com/) to the podcast. Katrina became a functional practitioner after getting her breast cancer into remission, 100% naturally. She is board-certified in holistic nutrition and has been in the health field since opening her Pilates studio at 24. She also homeschooled her seven children while writing her international bestseller, Nutritional Pilates!

    In this episode, you'll learn:

    1) How to prevent cancer and prepare for pregnancy success (biomarkers that can detect early cancer)

    2) What to do if you receive a cancer diagnosis while TTC (tests to run, questions to ask your doctor, self-advocacy)

    3) Functional medicine/nutrition strategies to reverse cancer (without chemotherapy/radiation)

    4) How to know when/if to utilize chemo/radiation

    5) Nutrition and stress reduction strategies to improve reproductive health

  • We’re digging into what you need to know if you have low AMH and want to get pregnant this year.

Most people I speak with have their AMH (anti-Mullerian hormone) biomarker memorized.

A low result can have you feeling confused and panicked about your next steps.

But what if we are focusing on the wrong biomarker? After all, AMH does not predict egg quality or your body’s ability to get pregnant naturally.

It’s a marker of your ovarian reserve and does not determine your ability to get pregnant.

We’ve helped women with AMH as low as 0.02 ng/ML get pregnant naturally.

So, what can you do to get pregnant this year when you have low AMH?

    In this episode, you'll learn:

    1) What the studies are telling us about AMH and fertility (i.e., AMH is not a predictor of pregnancy success)

    2) What to focus on instead of AMH that improves your reproductive health (i.e., themes we see with low AMH and action steps to help you get pregnant this year)

    3) The biggest barriers we see with low AMH and how to improve egg retrievals/transfers and implantation with IVF

The AMH level does not need to define your chances.

So, how do we fast-track pregnancy success?

What you place on your fork every day matters.

And no, you don't need to try the latest dietary fads such as:

    ❌ Carnivore
    ❌ Keto
    ❌ Vegan

Many of us are dealing with heavy cycles, light cycles, irregular cycles, anovulation, or amenorrhea.

She is co-author of the new book Real Food for Fertility: Prepare your body for pregnancy with preconception nutrition and fertility awareness.

  • We're digging into how the elimination diet can improve pregnancy success.

A theme we see with low AMH and/or high FSH is food sensitivities.

I know you’ve already made dietary changes. Maybe you took out gluten and dairy and didn’t even notice a difference. So, you kept eating them.

But you’re still struggling to conceive.

If you didn’t notice any symptoms, you could still have underlying inflammation, which may be why it’s not working.

However, if you have an immediate reaction to a food, such as gas, bloating, constipation, or diarrhea, you know for sure that the food is not right for your body. So, stop eating it!

If your body is under attack (even by a seemingly healthy food), it wants to survive, not procreate.

An elimination diet is the gold standard for determining if you have a food sensitivity.

We’ve had people only make diet changes, and they’ve successfully conceived (even after going through failed IVFs).

But you have to rip off the bandaid and start.

    In this episode, you'll learn:

    1) How to know if your infertility is a symptom of something else going on in your body (Hint – digestive issues, skin problems, mood problems, joint issues, and autoimmunity are ALL clues)

    2) What is a leaky gut, and why this matters if you are TTC

    3) Which foods to avoid during the elimination and how to reintroduce the foods (this part is crucial)

    4) Which foods will you eat (it is NOT about starving or drinking green juice)

    5) How to commit and actually start the elimination diet (gluten-light/dairy-light do NOT work)

  • We’re digging into how to improve your libido when you are TTC.

When you’re on the fertility journey, your focus may be on babymaking rather than lovemaking, with intimacy feeling more like a chore rather than experiencing true connection.

Or what if your libido has been impacted, and you don’t even want to have sex? But you’re trying to conceive, and you have no idea how to reclaim the passion and pleasure that lovemaking once had for you.

Either way, this journey can be hard on a couple. How can you improve intimacy and recharge your libido (for both you and your partner) as you prepare for your baby?

I’m excited to welcome Dr. Deb Matthew back to the podcast. Dr. Deb is The Happy Hormones Doctor, a best-selling author, international speaker, educator, wife, and mom of four boys.

    In this episode, you’ll learn:

    1) Signs of low libido in both men and women (this can be tied into why you are struggling to conceive)

    2) Reasons for low libido and steps you can take right now to improve hormone levels so you can get pregnant

    3) Nutrient deficiencies and which supplements can be helpful to improve libido

    4) Regenerative medicine techniques to combat painful sex and erectile dysfunction and improve orgasms

  • We’re digging into what to do after you’ve read It Starts With The Egg.

Most people on the fertility journey have read It Starts with the Egg by Rebecca Fett.

It has become the bible for egg health and the fertility community. The well-researched book includes actionable steps for diet, lifestyle, and supplement recommendations. However, the advice does skew towards IVF preparation rather than getting pregnant naturally.

What if you’ve already made all the changes in the book, but it still hasn’t worked?

Let’s break down the generalized guidelines in the book and how to personalize the suggestions to improve pregnancy success.

This episode is for you if:

You have implemented the suggestions in the book, and it still hasn’t worked

You were so overwhelmed by the book that you didn’t know where to start

Your partner isn’t making any of the suggested changes - just you! (steps to help his preconception health)

You haven’t read the book but you want to know how to improve egg quality and fertility naturally

    In this episode, you'll learn:

    1. Why your Vitamin D levels are low

    2. Why looking at your TSH is not enough

    3. Why digging into the diet is KEY for your fertility

    4. What you could be missing when it comes to environmental toxins

    5. Hw to improve your melatonin

    6. Why a blood test does NOT tell us the whole picture

    7. The recommended supplements (i.e. prenatal, B12, CoQ10, Vitamin E, Vitamin C, Alpha Lipoic, Myo-inositol, L- Carnitine, and men’s supplement recommendations)

Vitamin D deficiency may be linked to decreased ovarian reserve, as indicated by higher serum FSH, low AMH and low antral follicle count. In simpler terms, ensuring adequate vitamin D levels could potentially boost your fertility odds.

We see low vitamin D levels all the time with our clients.
