To find out, we recently interviewed Dr. Linda Peeno, a physician, ethicist and health insurance industry whistleblower who testified before Congress and who has spent nearly four decades working to protect patients from harm and death by corporate healthcare systems.

DEMOCRATS Are They Too Weak To Fight? Karel Cast 24-77
Biden now has immunity for his actions in office, official actions. Defending the Constitution is an official action. He says Trump, MAGA and the Supreme Court are threats to the Constitution. So why isn't ever MAGA legislator, Justice and Trump in Gitmo? Why doesn't he use his position as commander in chief to tell the National Guard, DOJ, someone to arrest these people for their crimes against the USA? Why do Democrats REFUSE to fight for our country like Republicans fight to destroy it? Is it all just talk and campaigning?
The USA is lost. If something is not done within four months, we are done as a Democratic Republic. And no one, including high ranking Democrats, seem to want to play anything but the victim.

Donald Trump and President Joseph Biden are set to debate this week and the world is abuzz. I'm not. I'm not even going to watch. First, I never want to hear that man speak again. Second, there IS NOT DEBATE. It's like debating if the Earth is Flat or if we should legalize perversion. On some matters there is no debate.
Influencers are being invited to cover the debate, with VIP access and access to candidates. But does this smack at the faces of credentialed, working media.
And, as the entire country is heating up, it really mattes about what is beneath our feet. The ground heating is even worse than the air heating. I'll tell you why that matters.

Leslie is joined by Maria Somma, Organizing Director for the United Steelworkers (USW).
The pair explores why workers still need the PRO Act.
This includes white collar workers, which Maria shares multiple examples of with the audience.
Workers in the South are also eager to exercise their rights, though this is drawing backlash from anti-worker politicians in states like Georgia and Alabama.
The Biden administration has done important work to correct course at the NLRB, and there are pro-worker provisions in recent investments, which are helping smooth the way for workers to have a voice on the job. This includes extensive new requirements for infrastructure projects to be “made in America” as part of the 2021 Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL). Known as the Build America, Buy America Act (BABAA), this section of the law promises to stimulate American manufacturing and create jobs for American workers by ensuring that a substantial portion of BIL funding is used to purchase U.S.-made products and materials.
However, workers still face an uphill battle when it comes to forming unions. The solution is to finally pass comprehensive legislation that shores up loopholes in our laws and attaches real, immediate penalties to corporations that violate workers’ rights.
Leslie and Maria share the legislative solution to these issues, which is the Richard L. Trumka Protecting the Right to Organize Act (PRO Act).
They detail what the law would do, which is:
- Establish stronger and swifter remedies to stop employers from breaking the law
- Make companies recognize contractors as part of the collective bargaining process so they can no longer continue to whittle down Union membership by subcontracting
- Force an employer to reach a first contract in a timely manner with a newly organized group of workers. (No more dragging out first contracts)
- Reverse so-called 'Right to Work,' regardless of state laws
- Prohibit employers from forcing employees to attend anti-union meetings
Recent polls show that support for unions is at a fifty-year high, and having Joe Biden, the only sitting President to walk a picket line, in office has helped workers a great deal. But, it’s time for the law to catch up.
Maria Somma has been an organizer for her entire career, first as a community organizer, and then as a labor organizer.
She started with the Steelworkers in 2001 as a healthcare workers organizer, and became Organizing Director in 2015.

We find ourselves in a destructive spiral. It is mostly the fault of the dishonest hardliners on the right. I will not call them conservatives, for they have co-opted and corrupted mainstream, movement conservatism. These hardliners are fueled by lies. The bigger, the better. Because they have no shame, they’ll say and do anything. And they are in turn fueled by polemic media. In today’s commentary, I suggest we turn off the cable news, internet, social media, and talk radio. By partaking in the very things that raise our blood pressure, we are ensuring an unhealthy country, and are damaging our own personal health to boot. The only to make it stop, is stop consuming it.
