A WILD Friday at the 154th Open Championship, golf's final major of 2026, has concluded and there's much to discuss on "The Daily Drive Golf Podcast!"

Australia's Lucas Herbert fired a 62 earlier on Friday and is in the outright lead at -8 through 36 holes. It was a great Friday playing for Bryson DeChambeau who shot a 66 with a birdie on the 18th hole, but then, massive controversy broke out after his round.
That's when the governing body of the Open The Royal And Ancient (R & A) took DeChambeau back out to the fifth hole to explain why he had trampled down the long grass and fescue behind his ball before hitting it. DeChambeau was ultimately penalized two shots and his 66 became 68.
The guys discuss it all with Bob's GREAT insight on scene and they debate the penalty and Bryson's behavior.
The guys also talk more about the stacked leaderboard that has the likes of Scottie Scheffler, Tommy Fleetwood, John Ram, Cam Young and others lurking and looking to win on Sunday afternoon.

The 2026 U.S. Open Golf Championship is in the books and once again, Wyndham Clark hoisted the trophy Sunday evening. The 32 year old has captured his second U.S. Open title in the last three years by winning at famed Shinnecock GC in Long Island,, NY by one shot over Sam Burns.
And, we did a a live show on social media immediately after the final round and now, "The Daily Drive Golf Podcast" is here on demand.
Host T.J. Rives is joined by Bob Harig of "The Daily Drive" Golf Substack, Newsletter and Podcast are back with Bob LIVE from the U.S. Open with first hand insight, analysis and reaction to Clark hanging on to win over the valiant Burns. Also, Tom Kim and Scottie Scheffler were contending but, it was Clark who claimed the major championship!
