Broken mind and growing confidence is my life story. My story goes from being suicidal all the way to now, living a positive and happy life!
I help you create a toolkit for your mental health and well-being.
Topics from mental health and wellness, depression, anxiety, mindfulness, meditation, stress; natural living, parenting, crystals, healing, art, law of attraction and more. It’s about living a better life, self-help and the ways I managed all of this to allow me to step into a better place.
I started working for the NHS in 2000, helping to create the Activities team to introduce activities to the mental health wards. I then became a health care assistant, doing a lot of work on the Dementia ward.
The initial inspiration behind Positive Life Workshops was possibly my first emotionally intelligent experience. I’d applied for a job on the Activities Team. It involved creativity, which suited me nicely. I had experience and thought the job was mine – but it wasn’t to be. I realised that I needed to listen to myself and start to do the things I enjoy. That’s when I decided to make a change: I’d earn more money doing what I loved, working the hours that I wanted.
My first actual session was a contract in a private mental health hospital doing acrylic pour painting. Using the things that have helped me improve my mental health to help others, such as my art, journaling, meditation, tarot cards, reiki and more – this was what started it all.
Establishing Positive Life Workshops has changed my life! I started off living with poor mental health, working for the NHS in ways that went against my own values. My confidence has grown and so has the people’s confidence that I’ve been working with too.
I’ve just had my website built http://positivelifeworkshopscic.com
I facilitated the Ladies’ Wellbeing sessions at Momo’s Cafe until lockdown began. It will be returning in a new format soon, but from Thursday 18th February that we have an eight week wellbeing programme that anyone can attend via Zoom, based around my mood booster workbook. You can get your free funded tickets here - https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/o/claire-eddleston-16570322959
I’ve recorded my anxiety course, This, will be going onto my website soon! I’ve also just launched a series of books – a mood booster workbook, a lockdown journal, and some notebooks featuring my artwork. The 8 weeks of stay connected sessions will run around this book. Mood Boosters Workbook https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08TFKP2Q5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabc_XCVAK0QHB3YS0RP4Z1QW
The main aim of Positive Life Workshops is to improve people’s wellbeing and mental health. We want to reduce the suicide rates in the UK by supporting people, sharing my own stories, and giving people vital self-help and resilience skills. Using the things that help me daily, and the creative activities that I love and enjoy. We aim to help anyone who needs a bit of support to people who are struggling. The sessions and podcast share my experiences of how I helped myself and if I can do it we all can. Sometimes we just need some support and some reminders to be kind to ourselves.

Calm sounds are a type of audio that can help soothe the mind and body, promoting relaxation and reducing stress. There are many different types of calm sounds that people can listen to, including natural sounds like rainfall, waves crashing on the shore, and birds singing, as well as white noise and ambient music.
One of the main benefits of listening to calm sounds is their ability to reduce stress and anxiety. When we are feeling stressed or anxious, our bodies release cortisol, a hormone that can increase heart rate and blood pressure. Listening to calm sounds can help lower cortisol levels and induce a state of relaxation, which can help us feel more calm and centered.
In addition to reducing stress, calm sounds can also improve sleep quality. Many people find that listening to white noise or ambient music helps them fall asleep more easily and stay asleep throughout the night. This is because these types of sounds can mask other noises in the environment, such as traffic or voices, and create a more peaceful and calming atmosphere.
Calm sounds can also help improve focus and concentration. By blocking out distractions and creating a calming environment, these sounds can help us stay more present and focused on the task at hand. This can be especially helpful for people who work in noisy or busy environments, or for those who struggle with attention deficit disorders.
Another benefit of calm sounds is their ability to promote mindfulness and meditation. Many people use calming sounds as a background for meditation or mindfulness practices, as they can help them stay present and focused during these practices. Additionally, the repetitive nature of some calm sounds, such as the sound of waves or rainfall, can help induce a meditative state and promote relaxation.
There are many different types of calm sounds to choose from, and each person may have their own preferences. Some people may prefer the sound of rainfall, while others may find that ambient music or white noise works best for them. It is important to experiment with different types of calm sounds and find what works best for you.
In conclusion, calm sounds can provide a variety of benefits for both the mind and body. They can help reduce stress and anxiety, improve sleep quality, enhance focus and concentration, and promote mindfulness and meditation. Whether you prefer the sound of natural environments or ambient music, there are many different options to choose from. By incorporating calm sounds into your daily routine, you can help create a more peaceful and centered mindset, leading to a happier and more fulfilling life.
