  • Ari Scott is an entrepreneur, business coach and consultant who provides support, strategies & systems for ADHDers starting and growing their own businesses.

Because it turns out…ADHDers are really good at being entrepreneurs.

In this episode Steph sits down with Ari to find out why that is, and how she can manage some of the parts of work and business that ADHD makes more difficult, like receiving feedback, prioritising tasks, and staying focussed.

Steph and Ari first met after Steph appeared on a panel at a marketing summit. Afterwards, Ari asked Steph…do you think you might have ADHD?

So in this episode, Steph & Ari also speak about what it was about Steph that made Ari think she might have ADHD.

  • Em Rusciano is a writer, singer, performer, comedian and podcaster. Em was diagnosed with ADHD and autism in her early 40’s, and her three children are all neurodiverse too.

Now this conversation has been a long time coming.

If you’re a long-time listener of the KICBUMP podcast, you might remember when Em came on in 2023 and asked Steph whether or not she had ADHD.

Well turns out…Em was right! And now, almost two years later, Em is back on the podcast to talk all things ADHD & motherhood.

Like - communicating to your child about their neurodiversity, what makes having ADHD harder as a mum, getting REALLY into your kids’ hobbies, setting up boundaries with your family, and letting go of neurotypical rules of parenting.

  • Dr Billy Garvey is a developmental paediatrician, a senior specialist at one of Australia’s largest tertiary paediatric hospitals, and a dad to a three-year-old and a one-year-old.

Billy spends a lot of time working with neurodivergent children and their parents, and is one of our most favourite KICBUMP parents so we HAD to get him in for this miniseries!

In this episode, Billy & Steph speak about how ADHD presents in children and how parents can best support a child who has ADHD: what age children start displaying symptoms, seeking a diagnosis, how likely it is that ADHD parents will pass it on to their children, and most importantly, why that's not a bad thing.

  • This week we’re talking about how we split up the domestic labour in our homes. A few weeks ago the HILDA survey (Household, Income and Labour Dynamics in Australia Survey) came out which found that men are doing the same amount of housework now as they were when the survey started…20 years ago. This made us reflect on how we do divvy up the chores in our homes.

And! Do you brush your teeth before breakfast or after? What about shampoo or conditioner? We asked you which thing you do first and turns out they were more divisive than we thought.

Lastly! Is anyone else sleeping on top of a piece of plastic?

  • Matilda Boseley is a journalist and author of the book ‘The Year I Met My Brain: A travel companion for adults who have just found out they have ADHD’.

The book is part-Matilda’s experience of ADHD, and part-straight up facts, and this conversation was a little bit of both too. Matilda's book has become Steph's go-to recommendation for anyone wanting to learn more about ADHD, and especially ADHD in women.

Because the thing is…ADHD presents verrrrry differently in women and girls compared to boys.

In this episode Matilda speaks with Steph about learning about ADHD via TikTok during Covid lockdown, receiving an ADHD diagnosis in her early 20’s, the compounding impact of ADHD & anxiety, and Steph & Matilda both share their own experiences of being women with ADHD.

Georgie shares about the differences between Frankie & Billie’s births, including delivering a breech baby (Frankie) vaginally, and an emergency Caesarean (Billie), the post-partum experience for both, including hair-loss, intrusive thoughts, and Dysphoric Milk Ejaculation Reflex, and how her relationship with her partner Zac has changed since welcoming a second bub into their family.

From Georgie: Kids are meant to push boundaries so it's our job to firmly hold boundaries with love. Modelling the way we want them to deal with situations is so important because they learn from what they see not what they are told.
