Wââelcome to RNT Fitness Radio. Today Iâm joined by RNTer Devin Parmar, whoâs been through a remarkable journey so far with us. Funnily enough, for a long time, he never thought he was doing too bad. He thought he was eating healthy, did a few HIIT sessions, and occasionally trained with dumbbells at home.

Iâm recording this a few days after my daughter turned eight months old.
I canât quite believe itâs gone so fast. Itâs strange; at the beginning it felt like time went super slow, but as each month has gone by, itâs sped up rapidly. I think part of it is because milestones are coming thick and fast, and her interaction with us continues to grow.
This is the seventh time Iâm recording one of my âTop Lessonsâ podcsats. I always flick through the previous installments to get a feel for where I was, where Iâve been and if Iâve learnt from the past.
Oftentimes I see lessons from 7 years ago that feel timeless, and will never get old. Sometimes I look and cringe at what was going on in my life, and the clear influence it had on my thoughts.
Iâve yet to get to the end of a year, since as long as I can remember, and think life isnât better than it was a year before. At least on my own scorecard.

Welcome to part 2 of the episode series, 9 things the public doesnât âgetâ about being vegan (but should) with Dr Minil Patel.
It took me 3 years of umming and ahhing before I finally pulled the plug on meat/fish/dairy. Despite having helped 100s of vegans, I always thought I was a âunique caseâ where it wouldnât work. I worried about the lifestyle, the convenience, the travel, the fitness gains. It was all in my head.
The last 22 months have proven I can feel, look and perform at my best with only plants. Only just a few days ago someone DMâd me something along the lines of: âCan you still lose weight, feel healthy and perform well without meat?â I directed her to a few RNT case studies and she couldnât believe what she was reading (and seeing).
The past two years have taught me a lot. A few months ago I wrote a carousel titled â9 things the public doesnât get about veganism (but should)â. It covered four pillars: health, fitness, environment and ethics. After thinking about the 9 things more and more, I wanted to do a podcast to dive deeper into each.
So I thought of no one better than Dr Minil Patel to join me on the podcast to discuss each. An NHS doctor since 2016 and Vegan since 2017, Minil is fast becoming an authority in the interesting intersection between health and ethics as it pertains to all things plant-based. He most recently presented at Europeâs largest conference on Plant Based Nutrition and has consistently spoken at the UKâs biggest Vegan festivals over the past 2 years. Heâs also featured in the upcoming documentary âI Could Never Go Veganâ and I think youâll agree, heâs in half decent shape as well.

On this episode of RNT Fitness Radio Iâm joined by Hemal Shah, who shares his journey so far with us at RNT. After spending years focusing on his career at the expense of his health, Hemal found himself at over 200lbs. Once Covid forced a change in lifestyle, coupled with a few candid comments from his children, Hemal decided enough was enough. I was blown away while recording this episode of RNT Fitness Radio. Nishaâs story is exactly why we do what we do at RNT. At only 36 years young, she was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. As a mum with two young children, Nisha and her husband were shaken to the core. Fortunately, after gruelling chemotherapy, her body fought it off. At this point, Nisha wanted to get strong, focus on her health, and give herself more âme timeâ. After seeing her husband Bhavin undergo an awesome transformation with us, she knew where to go. And after seeing my Road To Vegan Shredded series, she wanted to make the switch to vegan at the same time! Fast forward 10 months and Nisha is in the best shape of her life. Sheâs strong, energetic, confident and a few weeks ago, she got the 100% all clear from her doctor from her cancer. In this episode we dive into her journey of healing from cancer, the impact on her family, and how her RNT journey has played an important part in her recovery.
