There is no such thing as being too dumb to get sober, but there is such a thing as being "too smart". People tend to stay sober after some form of guidance and mentorship whether that be rehab, 12 step meetings, coaching or other support groups. In most cases it takes humility and acceptance to get sober because this is when we are the most willing to take direction.
