I’ve been going to science fiction, fantasy, horror, and comic book conventions since I was 15, and I’ve found that while the con which takes place within the walls of a hotel or convention center is always fun, the con away from the con—which takes place when I wander off-site with friends for a meal—can often be more fun. In fact, my love of tracking down good food while traveling the world attending conventions has apparently become so well known that one blogger even dubbed me "science fiction’s Anthony Bourdain."
So I've decided to replicate in podcast form one of my favorite parts of any convention—good conversation with good friends over good food.
During each episode, I’ll share a meal with someone whose opinions I think you’ll want to hear, and we’ll talk about science fiction, fantasy, horror, writing, comics, movies, fandom … whatever happens to come to mind. (There’ll also be food talk, of course.)
Please note—this will not be a pristine studio-recorded podcast, but one which will always occur in a restaurant setting, meaning that mixed in with our conversation will be the sounds of eating and drinking and reviewing of menus and slurping and background chatter and the servers popping in … in other words, it’ll be as messy as life. And I hope you'll find it as entertaining, too. -

An audiobook narrator who just can't focus on the job in hand. His digressions take him further and further off-piste.Now including the complete and unabridged The Lost World by Arthur Conan Doyle. Personally, I wouldn't recommend it.And now we're engaged in a tug of war between Chapters of Dracula by Bram Stoker and 1984 by George Orwell.

Emily Brontë's only novel, published in 1847 under the pseudonym Ellis Bell, tells the tale of the all-encompassing and passionate, yet thwarted, love between Heathcliff and Catherine Earnshaw, and how this unresolved passion eventually destroys them and many around them.
Now considered a classic of English literature, Wuthering Heights met with mixed reviews by critics when it first appeared, with many horrified by the stark depictions of mental and physical cruelty. Though Charlotte Brontë's Jane Eyre was originally considered the best of the Brontë sisters' works, many subsequent critics of Wuthering Heights argued that its originality and achievement made it superior.

Welcome! Here are your fuzzy slippers and hot chocolate--or champagne as you prefer. This is a long form podcast for people who love reading or listening to Regency, Victorian and Georgian Romance novels. Episode running time varies, but is typically 45 minutes and up. Each episode features a free, deluxe length, high quality audio book sample from a Historical Romance novel (some of them steamy) followed by an interview with the author--all hosted by Historical Romance author, Tessa Candle.
Be warned: some of the audio book content might be steamy, and because of that, there may occasionally be some naughty words or adult themes in the interviews. But overall the interviews are intended to be fun, good-humored and engaging chit-chat between friends--and just like when you are talking with your friends, sometimes you laugh and share encouragement or heart-warming funny stories, and sometimes you talk about deeper things. We sometimes focus on the books and writing process, but other times we take a deep dive into the secret lives of authors. There is a lot of great content in that mix, and I hope you join us!
