This question came up on the monthly Hot Seats call in my membership, Wear Wag Repeat Society. How do you know if keyword research for blog posts is really worth it? Can you show an example of a blog post written with keyword optimization and one without?
Yes! I happen to have 2 great examples to illustrate this answer and I'll cover them in this special audio and video episode of the Wear Wag Repeat Podcast.

Do you feel like your blog posts are like a collection you started a long time ago and now they just sit on the shelf and collect dust?
Blogging can be discouraging if youāre not seeing traffic and results from your posts. Q3 theme - July interview with Pamela Keniston and solo episodes from me. Our August expert is Caitlin Brown from Sparkles and Sunshine Blog. Iāve known Caitlin for years and Iām always so impressed by the perseverance she has to keep creating fun, engaging and helpful content. Caitlin creates a lot of content and sheās a data nerd as much as I am, so Iām excited to share this conversation with you. Everything we discuss applies to bloggers like us and pet business owners who use blogging as a marketing strategy.
We share advice on playing the long game when it comes to your blog content and why itās so important to write helpful content that serves your audience. If youāre putting a lot of effort into these posts, they should still be relevant a year or two from now. Or even 10 years later, like some of my most popular blog posts!
We touch a bit on keyword research, but if you want to learn more about that go listen to last monthās episode for a deeper dive. If youāre in my membership, WWR Society, we also have several lessons including screen share videos on how to find the right keywords to blog about.
OKā¦ bit finally, Caitlin and I also talk about Pinterest on this episode. We are both big believers in Pinterest because it continues to drive a ton of traffic to our blogs. Pinterest works a lot like Google, you need to give it time for momentum to build. When we do the live round of my Pinterest course weāll be focusing on pinning winter content.

A lot of pet indsutry business owners, pet influencers and content creators tell me they have an email list but they don't know what to send. Or maybe they haven't emailed their list of pet lovers in a long time and it's feeling a little awkward now.

3 emails you can send your pet industry list:
1) Sorry I've been MIA, here's what's new. Ask subscribers to reply and tell you whats new with them.
2) Re-use an email from your welcome sequence! I recently sent email #3 from mine and it performed really well. Don't have a welcome email sequence set up? I can do it for you with my new service, Leash Up Your Email Marketing.
3) Use voice to text to answer a question like, "What is something you recently saw someone doing with their pet that you couldn't believe they didn't know better?" Email marketing is a game-changer for petpreneurs! But when it comes to automated emails, many of us are stuck thinking that only means a welcome email sequence.
In this episode with copywriter Sara Gillis, weāre taking a look at two powerful types of email sequences that you donāt want to neglect: nurture sequences and launch sequences. These strategic messages can transform your email marketing, keeping your audience engaged at different stages of your pet business.
One common roadblock Sara and I talk about in this episode is the fear of annoying your list with too many emails. But letās flip that script! If you don't reach out regularly, youāre essentially ghosting your subscribers. Consistent communication is key! And thatās where email sequences come in handy.
