James Edward Harden Jr. was born on August 26, 1989, in Los Angeles, California. Growing up in the Compton neighborhood, Harden developed a passion for basketball at an early age. He attended Artesia High School in Lakewood, California, where he led his team to two state championships. His impressive performance earned him recognition as a McDonald's All-American in 2007. College Career Harden continued his basketball journey at Arizona State University, where he played for the Sun Devils. During his two seasons with the team (2007-2009), Harden showcased his scoring ability and all-around game. He was named the Pac-10 Player of the Year in 2009 and earned consensus All-American honors. Harden declared for the NBA draft after his sophomore year, solidifying his reputation as one of the top prospects in the nation. NBA Career Oklahoma City Thunder (2009-2012) Harden was selected as the third overall pick by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2009 NBA Draft. He quickly established himself as a key player for the team, forming a formidable trio with Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook. In 2012, Harden played a crucial role in helping the Thunder reach the NBA Finals, where they lost to the Miami Heat. Harden's performance earned him the NBA Sixth Man of the Year award in 2012. Houston Rockets (2012-2021) In October 2012, Harden was traded to the Houston Rockets, where he emerged as one of the league's premier players.
