die dritte ausgabe des International Scenographers‘ Festival IN3 2010 in Basel ist diesmal ganz dem thema des ausstellens gewidmet – «exhibit! scenography in exhibition design» ist aufforderung und programm zu- gleich. an vier tagen werden die unterschiedlichen aspekte des gestaltens, ausstellens und der realisierung von ausstellungen verhandelt. dazu haben wir eine Vielzahl international renommierter gäste eingeladen, die ihre je- weils eigene sicht auf das ausstellen vortragen und diskutieren werden. Zudem werden im rahmen des Festivals zwei in3 workshops vorgestellt und erstmals im rahmen der in3 challenge ein preis für angehende szenogra- finnen und szenografen verliehen.

Paul Klee war Maler. Aber er war auch Musiker. Mit sieben Jahren hat er das Geigespielen gelernt und hat sein ganzes Leben lang Musik gemacht. In der Jugend war er Mitglied im Symphonieorchester der Stadt Bern, später hat er vor allem Streichquartett und Kammermusik gespielt. Zudem ging er leidenschaftlich gerne in die Oper und hörte zu Hause Schallplatten bekannter Werke. Musikalische Begriffe kommen in seinen Bildtiteln vor und auch im Unterricht griff er auf Grundlagen der Musik zurück, um bildnerische Vorgänge zu erklären. Und wir wissen, dass er auch die Musik seiner Zeitgenossen gekannt und geschätzt hat.
Der Podcast «Paul Klees Playlist» gibt einen Einblick in das vielseitige musikalische Leben des Künstlers.

How does a poet represent two distinctly different cultures in their work? How did James Berry interpret his experience and those of other Jamaican’s that migrated to England in the late 1940’s into his writing? James Berry was born in Jamaica in 1924, but moved to England during the wave of immigration from the West Indies led by the Empire Windrush. From a young age Berry had an interest in language, and showed an aptitude for spoken word and through writing soon realised he could explore the world from different perspectives. He became part of a new generation of post-colonial poets who drew inspiration from their country of birth in addition to British culture. This album focuses on a selection of poems from his collection titled Windrush songs.
